The moderately priced smartphone from Motorola packs an incredible set of specs and was a big surprise at a reasonable price tag. The device will give an excellent trip, but the thing that remains to be seen is, whether it will be a full-HD or Quad-HD panel. Although we expect a Quad-HD panel, recent Geekbench listing revealed a full-HD display panel, alongside other features.
Hardware and Performance:
If you’re looking for smooth and top-of-the-line performance, there is nothing better than going for a high-end Motorola smartphone. The company gives extreme importance on maintaining the performance of its devices, and even with Moto X Play, it has retained the same level of perfection. Moto X Play powers up by an octa-core Snapdragon 615, and pairs up with 2GB RAM for nonstop work and play. It promises top-tier performance, and handles graphic-intense gaming and multi-tasking with absolute perfection.
On the other hand, as Yu’s Co-founder and CEO Rahul Sharma touts, Yu Yutopia will be the “most powerful phone on the planet”. According to rumors and leaks, the metal build smartphone will boast Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 810 chipset, and will pair up with a whopping 4GB of DDR3 RAM. It will bring advanced 64-bit capabilities, and will sit perfectly as one of the most powerful smartphones in the mid-range segment, after the might OnePlus of course.
Software:
On the software front, Moto X Play brings an exquisite stock-like experience with a clean and intuitive interface. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, and will get an official upgrade for the all new Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Yu Yutopia, however, will power up by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based Cyanogen OS, and will bring a slew of options for added customization of menus, lock screen and the home-screen. It will get frequent updates, and will be no different from what we’ve already seen on Yu Yureka Plus and Yu Yuphoria.
Camera Performance:
The camera setup equipped with Moto X Play is simply amazing. It offers an ideal ecosystem for photography, and packs a 21-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with a plethora of features.Although there is no OIS, the f/2.0 aperture performs quit well, and delivers crisp and well balanced images in all environments. It did not struggle even without a flash.
For Yu Yutopia, the thing about camera is still not clear. The device is speculated to feature a 21MP rear and an 8 MP front-facing shooter, but we’re still one month from the official introduction of this device, and there have been very few leaks or rumors about the camera of this device.
Price:
In India, the 16GB variant of Moto X Play ships at an enticing price bracket of Rs. 18,499, while the 32GB variant comes for a little more at Rs. 19,999.Although you can have better options by spending a few more bucks, no other option goes above and beyond Motorola at 20k. On the contrary, for Yu Yutopia, pricing will be the biggest surprise.As the buzz goes around, the upcoming high-end smartphone will carry a price tag of Rs. 21,499, which completely falls in line with the price listed on an Indian import/ export website, Zauba.

As of now, there is no real competitor for Moto X Play, but if, in coming months, Yu Yutopia is launched with the same package of specs as we’ve speculated, there will be severe problems for Motorola to embrace its sales volume. However, for consumers, it’s anall win-win situation. Moto X Play is extremely impressive while Yu Yutopia is too good to be ignored. So, no matter which you pick, you’ll definitely get an incredible user-experience with top-of-the-line performance. At a price around 20k, nothing goes better these two brilliantly crafted high-end beauties.
